Additions to a 1930s Bungalow
Location : Churchtown, Dublin
Status : Completed January 2007
This project involved single storey extensions to the side and rear of a 1930s bungalow and an attic conversion. The kitchen/dining space is housed in the new rear extension which opens up to both the west and south terraces. The utility also accommodated here is concealed behind the tall units to the kitchen. A timber clad courtyard separates the side and rear extensions. It allows daylight and ventilation into the living room and also to the kitchen and home gym. Two Guest bedrooms and an interconnecting bathroom are hidden behind a cloaks storage wall off the double height hallway. The master bedroom, ensuite and walk-in wardrobe are located at first floor level in the converted attic which has zinc clad dormers allowing increased head heights.
