Remodeling a Terraced House
Location: Booterstown, Dublin
Status: on site
The ground floor of this existing mid terraced two-storey house was gutted to allow for a new fresh ‘installation’. The fit out comprised of a cranked wall (porch), sliding walls (study), storage walls (cloaks, laundry, play storage) and a kitchen island. The kitchen/dining is accommodated in a small extension which has a glazed wall allowing west light and access out to the rear garden. There is a large roof light between the kitchen and the island to maximise light in this area and in the living room which is situated in the middle of the plan. Fitted furniture is detailed to disappear and enhance the sense of space in this otherwise small footprint.
